New CEO at the helm of METRO Hungary

As of 1 April 2024, Vladimir Gnjidić will take over as CEO of METRO Hungary, succeeding Thierry Guillon-Verne, who was appointed CEO of METRO Austria in February, according to a press release sent to our portal.

Vladimir Gnjidić has been with METRO Group since November 2011. He began his career at METRO Croatia, where he gained experience as a member of the Board of Directors responsible for Purchasing, before moving to the position of Commercial Director.From 2019, he has held various positions on the Board of Directors of METRO AG's Czech subsidiary MAKRO Czech Republic in the commercial area, most recently in charge of Sales and Operations.



The five-member Board of Directors of METRO Hungary now includes two senior international executives, as Marijana Racic has been appointed CFO of METRO Hungary since 1 March. Marijana Racic comes to METRO from Serbia, where she held the same position. The other members of the METRO Hungary Board of Directors are Dr. Beáta Kápolna, Procurement Director, Helga Kaszás, People and Culture Director, and Péter Tóth-Korom, Sales and Operations Director.



With the arrival of the new senior executives, the chain enters a new phase in the implementation of its wholesale strategy for 2021. With the store restructuring, focused on high efficiency, soon to be completed, the company will build on these foundations and focus on further accelerating its ability to meet professional customer needs, leveraging the unique strength of its multi-channel services.



Vladimir Gnjidić succeeds Thierry Guillon-Verne, who was appointed head of METRO Austria in February.
